FUGAZI
All-ages admission, $5 tickets, $10 albums, zero corporate sponsorship, zero T-shirt merch tables, and radical dynamics where silence hits as hard as feedback.
Formed in Washington, D.C. in 1987 by Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat, Embrace), Joe Lally, and Brendan Canty (Rites of Spring), soon joined by Rites of Spring vocalist/guitarist Guy Picciotto. Fugazi expanded hardcore's ethical framework into hypnotic dub-driven post-hardcore, playing over 1,000 all-ages shows across all 50 US states and around the globe.

Frontman of Teen Idles, Minor Threat, Embrace, Fugazi, and The Evens, and co-founder of Dischord Records. Creator of the DIY punk ethics code: all-ages shows, $5 doors, $10 records, no merchandise, and absolute artistic autonomy.

Frontman of seminal D.C. post-hardcore band Rites of Spring and co-vocalist/guitarist of Fugazi. Renowned for his contortionist stage acrobatics—hanging upside down from basketball hoops while singing—and angular, trebly Rickenbacker guitar interplay with Ian MacKaye.
