BLACK FLAG
Total DIY independence: relentlessly touring the country in an unheated econoline van, screenprinting our own flyers, and rejecting commercial rock radio.
Founded in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, CA by Greg Ginn; pioneers of American hardcore punk, DIY touring, SST Records, and Raymond Pettibon's Xerox flyers. With uncompromising downstrokes, four iconic bars, and visceral live intensity, Black Flag redefined underground music culture.
