JOEY RAMONE

Ramones Founding Lead Vocalist & CBGB Punk Icon • Forest Hills, Queens / East Village, NYC • Since 1974

The 6-foot-6 heart and soul of the Ramones. Standing center stage at CBGB in his black leather jacket, rose-tinted sunglasses, and Converse sneakers with a wide-stanced grip on his microphone stand, Joey's yearning melodic tenor turned three-chord buzzsaw punk into timeless rock and roll.

“Punk is about being an individual and going against the grain and standing up and saying 'This is who I am.'”
